I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Fall is certainly showing its true colors this year. Now it’s Monday and time to face the work week. Here’s our weekly collection of interesting, funny and hopefully amusing bits of content. I hope you enjoy them.
5 Fun Social Media Halloween Costume Ideas [CONTEST]
Mashable is putting on a contest with a chance to win a $400 shopping spree. All you need to do is post a photo of yourself wearing your social media Halloween costume. The post starts with 5 ideas to get you thinking – including the Old Spice Guy. Thanks to @ChrisHusong for the heads up on this one.
What Kind of Geek are You?
This is a great infographic on Mashable. Yes, if you read Mashable, you’re probably a geek of some sort. Sounds like potential updated lyrics for “What Kind of Fool Am I?”. Thanks to @lyndaforman for this amusing find.
Madtv – Apple I-rack [VIDEO]
While we would have loved to make this our video of the week, embedding was disabled for this hilarious clip from Madtv season 12 episode 16, which is a spoof of Apple and Steve Jobs. It’s possible embedding was disabled as this is not the “official” MadTV YouTube Channel – but we couldn’t find this video on that channel. Even so, with over 5 million views so far, if this is the unofficial version, it sure got a lot of traction. Our thanks go to Distility Branding (@1day1brand) of Toronto for this bit of comic relief.
Boats Recycled into Sheds [PICS]
These fishermen have found a great way to recycle their old boats by turning them upside down and creating storage sheds. Maybe this gives some credence to Kermit the frog’s “It Ain’t Easy Bein’ Green.” Thanks to @HotInFashion for this one.
Video of the Week
Halloween Pumpkin Massacre – JibJab
In this JibJab video, two unsuspecting pumpkins are horrified to learn of their Halloween fate. We couldn’t let this post end without just a little “gore” for the upcoming spookfest. Okay, it’s sick, but isn’t that the idea? Have a happy and fun Halloween and see if this video sticks with you if you still need to carve a pumpkin or two.
