We hope you enjoy our lighthearted look at some interesting, funny and downright amazing content.

Your Cell Phone Has 18X More Bacteria On It Than A Toilet Handle
Thanks to @keewood for grossing us out this week. Actually, the story is a report from the Sacramento Bee about handheld devices giving a whole new meaning to “going viral.” So maybe a toilet-handle-shaped smart phone is on the horizon?
Trident Offers Gum-paid Cab Rides In N.Y.
Maybe you’ve heard of the cash cab, but how about the Trident gum cab? As part of a one-day marketing promotion, MediaPost reports that between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, Trident will run a branded cab stand/promotion area at the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street. People who present a pack of Trident Layers — either purchased or one of the free sample packs that will be distributed at that location, can use the pack to “pay” for a trip anywhere within the city limits in designated Trident Layers cabs. Thanks to Byron Ward (@b1ward) for this one.
Something About Tax Cuts Or Earnings Or Money Or Something In Recent Economic News
Leave it to the Onion to make light of all the economic and financial news mumble-jumble pouring from news outlets around the world. In fact, much of the news has been contradictory, which leads us to believe led the Onion to statements like this:
“According to numerous articles and economics segments from major media outlets, experts on banks and such have become increasingly concerned over a new extension or rates or a proposal or compromise that could signal fewer investments, and dollars, and so on.”
We can’t blame anyone for steering us to this piece. We have to admit sheepishly it was all our own doing.
Video of the Week
Sesame Street: Smell Like A Monster
As Grover says in this Sesame Street video, “Anything is possible when you smell like a monster and know the word ‘on’.” This sendup of the Old Spice Man campaign that we featured in our July 19th issue of Monday Madeleines should put a smile on your face.
