Here it is. Monday morning of Thanksgiving week. It’s going to be a short one so you’re really going to have to go full throttle to get everything done this week. We hope this week’s Monday Madeleines will help you do just that. Enjoy!
In Pictures: The Year’s Most Ridiculous Excuses For Calling In Sick
While you may not have actually used any of these excuses, Forbes.com has put together a collection that borders on the absurd. If you’re scheduled to work this Friday, maybe you can use one. Thanks to @Lucas_Wyrsch for bringing this to our attention.

The 10 Most Disturbing Books Of All Time
As the curator of this list says, “Any one of these books is capable of leaving you feeling a little depressed at the least, and permanently scarred at the worst.” While this list wasn’t built yesterday, some of the choices probably belong here. What are some of your most disturbing books of all time? Thanks to @OnGoBee for calling this to our attention.
Best 10 Most Beautiful Canyons of the World[PICS]
As the author of this post put it, “Canyons offer some of the most dramatic landscapes on earth, not only for the sheer size but also for the beauty that often lies hidden beneath the ground.” Enjoy some magnificent photography while you take a trip around the world to see some of nature’s amazing beauty. This eyeful was brought to us by @paul_steele who alertly retweeted the finding via @Marcia_ms.
If you need a little inspiration to do something different for this Thanksgiving’s meal, you’ll be pleased to know that the Napa Valley Register decided to ask some of the region’s famous local chefs what they are cooking or what they recommend for Thanksgiving this year. The chefs also share which Napa Valley wines they would pair with their meals. This food for thought came our way via @ChMontelena, or Chateau Montelena, an historic Napa Valley winery established in 1882 best known for its elegant, age-worthy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. And yes, you can order online from their website and they have a Cellar Master wine club that offers 4 levels of membership. Yum!
